OFSTED and Performance Data
We are incredibly proud to share that Mapplewells Primary and Nursery School has been judged Outstanding in all areas in our most recent Ofsted inspection (January 2025). Inspectors praised every aspect of school life, recognising the exceptional quality of education, outstanding behaviour and attitudes, excellent personal development, highly effective leadership, and our strong early years provision.
The report highlights that “pupils are happy at this school and describe themselves as proud ‘Mapplewellians’,” noting that they are “highly motivated, enthusiastic learners who live up to the school’s high expectations.” Inspectors found that pupils achieve consistently high academic standards, with disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND achieving exceptionally well.
Inspectors were equally impressed by pupils’ conduct and personal development, describing their behaviour and commitment to learning as “excellent.” They commented that children “treat one another with kindness and respect” and praised the school’s ambition in helping pupils grow into well‑rounded, empathetic young people. Leadership opportunities such as the ‘curriculum crew’, ‘eco leaders’ and ‘diversity leaders’ were recognised for helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Our early years provision was also celebrated, with inspectors noting that children “make a strong start to their education” because our caring and knowledgeable staff “go above and beyond to provide an inspiring curriculum that enables all children to succeed.”
We are delighted that the hard work, dedication, and collective effort of our pupils, staff, families, and wider community have been recognised so positively. This outstanding report reflects the strength of our school and our commitment to providing the very best education for every child. We look forward to continuing to build on these strong foundations as we move forward together.
