Spanish Day

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.

Spanish is the fourth most spoken language in the world, and many of our families enjoy visiting Spanish-speaking countries on holiday. At Mapplewells, we begin teaching Spanish in Key Stage 1 – earlier than the National Curriculum recommends – because research shows that the earlier children are exposed to a new language, the more likely they are to develop strong language skills.

Our children discovered the incredible diversity of Spanish-speaking countries around the world and their rich, varied cultures. One of our aims for today was that every child to takes away new knowledge and understanding about Spain, the Spanish language, and different cultures across the globe.

It's been a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn, experience and enjoy a taste of the Spanish-speaking world!
