Curriculum Journey for F2 2025/26
Spring Term
Enquiry Question: What makes Britain great?
We have had a super busy spring term in F1 with our enquiry What makes Britain great?
To start off our enquiry we had a Royal tea party. We had a piece of delicious cake and a cup of tea. We learnt about how The United Kingdom is a country that is made up of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and that our planet where we live is called Earth and is made of land and water. We created our own Union Jack flags made out of coloured tissue paper. We found out that in the United Kingdom we have lots of different landmarks like Tower bridge, the Angel of the North and Buckingham Palace. We re created these landmarks using wooden blocks. In week 6 we started to learn about South Africa. We compared the United Kingdom and South Africa and looked at what the differences were. South Africa is a hotter country. They have different animals in South Africa too including lions, giraffes, elephants. We created some pictures of different animal fur patterns. We also used pastels to make some beautiful sunset artwork. Finally, we learnt about lots of different South African food and compared these to the food that we like to eat.
Autumn Term
Enquiry Question: Who is significant?
In F1 during the Autumn term, our enquiry question has been “Who is significant?”
The children have been learning about a range of significant people, including King Charles and what makes the King significant. We have discussed how people's jobs can make them significant and the children enjoyed talking about what different jobs they would like to do when they grow up. We have discussed important events from the past and how we remember important people from these events, such as Remembrance Day. We have also been getting very creative and have been carefully practising our pencil control by drawing self portraits and pictures of people who are special to us.
