VACANCY - Administration Assistant

Head Teacher: Mr G Worthington

On Roll: 286 + 52 Place Nursery 3-11 years


Administration Assistant, permanent, subject to a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months

Part time, 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am -4.00pm, term time only

NJE Grade 2, (Points 2-4) £18,198-18,933 pro rata

Required September 2021

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible individual to join the office team at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School, which is an academy within the Flying High Trust.  This position will involve working closely with our Office Manager and other Administration Assistant.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent organisational, administrative and record keeping skills;
  • Possesses outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels;
  • Can demonstrate good IT skills;
  • Has previous school experience;
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding;
  • Is able to offer a warm, friendly and efficient reception service;
  • Can ensure that all pupil and personnel data on school IT systems is accurate and current;
  • Has experience of collecting and reconciling monies;
  • Is able to efficiently carry out general administrative duties;
  • Can forge excellent relationships with our parents, staff, children and wider school community;
  • Works well as a team player but also has the initiative to work independently;
  • Is prepared to go the extra mile with a smile on their face!

Our office team works together to ensure the smooth running of the school on a daily basis and provides a welcoming and efficient reception service to our parents, visitors, children and staff. We are looking for someone who can remain calm and cheerful in a busy environment and who is able to prioritise work to ensure that the needs of our pupils and wider community are met.

Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training


Candleby Lane TSA is a lead deliverer with the Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training SCITT and offers Primary Teacher training in schools across the City and County each year. Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training is a SCITT managed by Candleby Lane TSA and their partners in Leicestershire - Affinity TSA. Through their partnership they aim for a person's training year to be the first step in their career. 


The programme offers both QTS and PGCE qualifications and they work in close partnership with Nottingham Trent University and the University of Leicester to accredit this learning. Full details can be found at Inspiring Leaders SCITT website.
