Fri 27 May 2016'Home Sweet Home' for Mapplewells Success in Mini-Basketball
Mapplewells Primary School Mini-Basketball Team recorded a double success in their first ever home matches in the history of the 33rd Annual Nottinghamshire Mini-Basketball Clinics directed by Coach Jimmy "Jumpshot" Smith. Abbey Gates Primary and Brierley Forest Primary provided sterling opposition as the host team rose to the occasion, winning 5-2 and 18-12, respectively.Mapplewell Coach Mr Clowery stated, "The atmosphere was great. Abbey Gates and Brierley Forest were two tough opponents. We could never pull away from either of them. It was just such a great experience."Director Jimmy "Jumpshot" Smith said, " Mapplewells has a beautiful outdoor court, one of the best in the area. We look forward to playing more fixtures here next year." -
Warburtons Visit
Tue 03 May 2016This half term, Year 2 was lucky enough to have Warburtons visit our class. During this time, we learnt lots of facts about Warburtons and its history. We found out that on one lorry there are 8000 loaves of bread. Each child used dough to create their own individual animal bread roll. In the afternoon we carried out a yeast experiment.

Year 5 Trip to Hagg Farm
Sun 01 May 2016Year 5 enjoyed an action packed residential at the Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre. They experienced activities such as caving, climbing, den building and orienteering with a snow covered backdrop of the Derbyshire hills.
The pupils were also responsible for lots of domestic duties and became very adept at using vacuum cleaners, sweeping floors of the communal areas and keeping their dormitories tidy.
An enjoyable time was had by all and the Hagg Farm staff were very complimentary about the pupils.
